Week 3 Devlog - Patryk


This Week I focused on the general movement and attacking, I figured In order to make an interesting and fun boss fight I would first need to get the core gameplay down. I started off with making some generic movement, you are able to hold the jump key to jump slightly higher. I then went ahead and added a dash mechanic, as dashes are a very fun mechanic and fit the style of game we are going for, I then added further onto that with a double jump mechanic. This movement system can be easily changed and tweaked, as well as adding new options for movement like wall jumping etc, so If we ever want to add those in the future we can. I also started work on the attacking gameplay, for the moment I've just done a simple animation that triggers when you click, but I have ideas on how to make it function in the future. And as an extra bonus (that will be later maybe used as an attack for the boss fight) I have added a camera Flip mechanic that turns the screen upside down for a bit, this will add extra challenge to the boss fight, however I don't know if this will stay, just a test on how it could work. Next week I want to further work on the combat.
